Edwards’ Videographer Reille Hunter, aka Lisa Druck, Dated Jay McInerney

2007-10-10-rhunter.jpg

FBLA got cranky emails when we posted about Rielle Hunter, the filmmaker for the John Edwards campaign. We knew there was a story there, and Mickey Kaus agrees. The National Enquirer has something, too. Wonkette rather disingenuously assures us that there’s nothing to see. Radosh thinks there is.

Sam Stein is back with more info at HuffPo. The faithful are appalled.

Hunter’s old website has been found, too. And as Stein reports:

On the deleted pages, the 44-year-old Hunter (formerly known as Lisa Druck) discusses her former hard partying days, her search for enlightenment, and her issues with drugs and debt. There is a 2005 interview she did with one-time boyfriend Jay McInerney, in which the celebrated novelist reveals that Hunter was the basis for Alison Poole, the main character of his book, Story of My Life.

Hunter/Druck’s alleged former drug use isn’t relevant to her work for the Edwards campaign, of course. But why, with all the USC/NYU/UCLA grads begging for work, did he hire this nobody? And why have those videos disappeared?
