Secret Service take note! The Wired blog Threat Level has picked up on a posting by a person claiming to be "anonymous" detailing how they hacked into Sarah Palin's email account. Hint: It apparently wasn't that hard.

But wait! It gets better. Bloggers at the chat room where the the post appeared have apparently traced the poster to an email address belonging to a college student in Tennessee. Threat Level says they reached the student's father by phone...the student's father is a Democratic state representative in Tennessee. We should point out that no charges have been filed and the father in question told Threat Level that neither he nor his son have been contacted by authorities, which could either mean they are completely innocent or that someone needs to give the FBI a course in the Google. The Palin hack didn't require any real skill. Instead, the hacker simply reset Palin's password using her birthdate, ZIP code and information about where she met her spouse -- the security question on her Yahoo account, which was answered (Wasilla High) by a simple Google search.
