The last time a snazzy rap duo from Philadelphia hit town, the result was a 1990-1996 hit sitcom for NBC. Who’s to say something similar won’t start to materialize for Chiddy Bang, the headliners from the City of Brotherly Love, at tonight’s free 9 p.m. launch party at the Avalon in Hollywood for Electronic Arts video game Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
The EA caravan comes to LA after pit stops in New York, Miami, Austin, Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco. Just in case you think video games are not a generational thing, consider the rest of the night’s entertainment. If you have heard of any of them, you may continue to hang out with your kids. There’s Peanut Butter Wolf, Mayer Hawthorne, DJ Skeet Skeet and Adam 12.
Also on display tonight at Avalon will be some of the cars featured in the game including a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Mercedes McLaren SLR. Since actors Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara from Entourage starred in the game’s ad campaign, chances are they could be there tonight as well.
