Thanks to keen-eyed Fishbowl allies around town, we now know that the rumblings we recently heard that Elvis Mitchell was getting love from his friends at Sony Pictures were right on the money: The Dreadlocked One will co-head the studio’s NY office with Deb Schindler and be the de facto film scout on the East Coast, as widely expected. Those stories we heard about him in Sundance bidding on at least one movie (“Hustle and Flow”) for Columbia Pictures before seeing it go elsewhere (and getting mobbed by female fans) seem to have a lot more validity to them now. Trial run, Elvis?
