E.T. Anniversary Celebrants Bike to LAFF Screening

A day after the LA Kings Stanley Cup parade, more free-spirited celebrating was on display downtown. Only in this case, it was to honor a reigning sci-fi champ.

To properly mark the 30th anniversary of E.T. The Extra Terrestrial and tease the forthcoming Blu-ray, several dozen Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition members (wearing commemorative red hoodies) arrived en masse at last night’s Los Angeles Film Festival free 8 p.m. screening at 7th and Figueroa… on bikes. Simple idea; brilliant idea. All told, about 100 people biked to the event.

Kudos to whoever at Universal, LACBC and-or LAFF came up with the notion of re-creating a signature E.T. scene. The only thing that makes FishbowlLA happier than this photo and video (below) is the fact that there will never be a sequel attempted.
