Fairchild Gets New CRO

howard.pngDays after Fairchild Fashion Group CEO Richard Beckman announced his first appointment to the Conde Nast unit he now oversees, another important position has been filled within the division.

Today, Beckman announced that current VP of multimedia for Conde Nast Media Group, Lisa Ryan Howard, would be taking on the role of CRO for Fairchild, effective July 13. Beckman served as president of Conde Nast Media Group until March of this year, when he was moved to Fairchild, which publishes trade publications WWD and Footwear News.

Howard has an extensive background in digital and interactive sales. In her role at Conde Nast Media Group, Howard oversaw digital integration and strategic multimedia sales and marketing and she previously worked as publisher for Style.com and Men.Style.com. Her experience will hopefully help Fairchild avoid additional cuts and closures in the coming months.

“Lisa’s been one of the key assets over the last eight years in developing the media group into what it is today,” Beckman said in the release. “She’s developed some of the most sophisticated multiplatform selling tools that will make her an ideal person to manage the multiple revenue streams at Fairchild.”

LISA RYAN HOWARD NAMED SVP, CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER FAIRCHILD FASHION GROUP

Lisa Ryan Howard has been named Senior Vice President, Chief Revenue Officer, Fairchild Fashion Group, it was announced today by Richard D. Beckman, President & CEO, Fairchild Fashion Group. Her appointment is effective July 13, 2009.

“Lisa’s been one of the key assets over the last eight years in developing the media group into what it is today,” Beckman said. “She’s developed some of the most sophisticated multiplatform selling tools that will make her an ideal person to manage the multiple revenue streams at Fairchild.”

Ms. Howard currently holds the position of Vice President, Multimedia, for the Conde Nast Media Group where she oversees digital integration and strategic multimedia sales and marketing dedicated to driving media revenues for corporate accounts across the company. Previous to this position, Ms. Howard was Vice President and Publisher of Style.com and Men.Style.com at CondeNet. Prior to that, she was the Executive Director of Corporate Sales at the Conde Nast Media Group. Before joining Conde Nast in 2000, Ms. Howard was the Director of Sales at Ultigo, Inc., a company that provided interactive commerce functionality to magazines and other publications. She was also the Advertising Director at Jane and W magazines, and an account manager for People.

Ms. Howard is an adjunct professor at New York University, teaching Introduction to Print and Digital Advertising Sales in the Masters, Publishing program. In 2007, she was named to Advertising Age’s annual “40 Under Forty” list. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with her husband, author Manny Howard and their two children.
