When we were about to leave the LA Weekly Recently Laid Off Party last night, we were introduced to Pulitzer Prize winning food critic, Jonathan Gold. We, of course, have his book, love him and think he’s a pioneer of diplomacy through gastronomy. We weren’t expecting to fawn – but it happened. And then we talked about Chifa.
We asked if we could get a photo with him. He asked,”Is this going on your blog?” With disdain for the word and the concept.
