FBNY Book Club: Violet In Private
In a perfect world, a FoFB (Friend of FishbowlNY) would publish a book every day. We could make it a daily post where our literary dreams came true. Unfortunately, despite the proliferation of blog books, we just don’t know that many people. So when one of our own does publish a book, we must do everything we can to overshare, overdo and generally overpromote the offering.
That said, we can’t overstate our support for Melissa Walker‘s new book, Violet In Private (and the critics agree). It’s the third book in her Violet series about the terrifying world of teenage modeling; one part Gossip Girls, one part The O.C. and one part soul-crushing teen neurosis that never truly go away.
This is Walker’s third book since September, which makes us feel both proud and remarkably lazy. More info about In Private and the Violet series can be found on Walker’s Web site, MelissaCWalker.com. She’ll be reading tomorrow from 6-7:30 p.m. at Books of Wonder on 18 W 18th Street along with Lisa McMann, author of Wake, and Linda Gerber, of Death By Bikini fame.
