FishbowlDC’s Patrick Gavin Departs for Politico

100_gg3032.jpgPolitico is taking over the world! Okay, maybe not officially, though lately they certainly seem to be taking over large swaths of it that are connected to Washington DC. This, of course, is our way of saying that FishbowlDC‘s Patrick Gavin is decamping to Politico where he will be “spearheading and hosting several online features: Video interviews, features, event coverage and Politico podcasts.” Well, Politico has good taste, that’s for sure! We caught up with Patrick and he had this to say about his departure:

Obviously it’s a tough thing to leave two things you love, but perhaps it’s time I settle down with just one…I’ll obviously miss mediabistro.com and the Fishies, but I suspect that FishbowlNY and I have more road trips ahead.

Let’s hope so!

Patrick’s announcement is here. Politico‘s is here. Meanwhile if you think you are up to filling his oft Drudge-linked shoes here are the details.
