Bronx Barbershop Set for Fox Sports Debut

This is pretty cool. Ahead of Saturday night’s 7 p.m. ET broadcast premiere, Fox Sports has made the full first episode of Back of the Shop available online.

The setting for the series is Jordan Sport Barbershop‘s original location in the Bronx (there is a second one now, at the corner of 189th and Broadway). Owner Jose Moises “Jordan” Lopez grew up in the Dominican Republic with former Mets/Marlins second baseman Luis Castillo. When he gave Castillo a haircut during spring training in 2001, his pal started recommending him to fellow MLB players.

Joining Lopez for Episode #1 are Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, New York Knick Iman Shumpert, team exec Larry Johnson and New York Yankees outfield Alfonso Soriano.
