Batter Up: FoxSports.com Seeks New Copy Chief

Here’s a job where you can be completely open about your fantasy football obsession while keeping everyone’s grammar and spelling in check. FoxSports.com is looking for a new copy chief to supervise a team of news editors, who are responsible for editing text, writing headlines and updating content for the site.

Your principal role will be to check for content issues, headline clarity and errors in a supervisory role over the copy desk. You’ll assigns daily tasks to copy editors and the news desk, while ensuring that pieces are well-written and accurate. You should have an eye for detail and the ability to edit under tight deadlines, while still maintaining your writers’ original voice. No one likes to be edited to death, anyway.

To be considered, you must have four or more year of editorial experience, preferably online. In addition to being an authority on grammar and spelling, you should possess strong news judgment and a personable nature (writers should be handled with care). If you’re ready to step up to the plate, apply here.
