Getty’s New Content Service

Getty Images has officially announced a new API platform that will allow customers to build content libraries and search technology (e.g., metadata, etc.) directly into their products and services.

The aim is to provide real-time access to constantly refreshed and updated Getty content, which was only available previously by visiting its website.

“Connect makes it easy for customers and partners to integrate Getty Images’ tremendous breadth of content, our rich-set of metadata and industry leading search within their platform, products, services, and applications,” said Jonathan Klein, co-founder and CEO of Getty Images. “The platform is a comprehensive, customizable and scalable solution that enables businesses to improve their products, streamline workflows, reduce storage costs and launch compelling new services.”

Getty says that since its launch, more than 40 companies ranging from media companies, digital media and advertising services, as well as mobile and web-based applications are currently using Connect. Now, the service is available to all Getty customers.
