Google Does Something Wrong, Miracle Phone Delayed

android-wallpaper2_thumbnail.jpgGoogle’s answer to the iPhone, handsets powered by its Android software, will be delayed until the fourth quarter, Jessica E. Vascellaro and Amol Sharma report at The Wall Street Journal.

T-Mobile expects to launch a phone in the fourth quarter, while Sprint Nextel, which was planning to as well, will have to wait as Google doesn’t have the resources to do both. China Mobile, the world’s largest wireless service, is pushing back its anticipated launch from the third quarter to late ’08 or early ’09.
