GQ Manages to Party On in Style

100_3517.jpgNot all the media parties have been canceled! Last night FBNY attended GQ‘s Men of Style four floor high shindig at the Louis Vuitton store on 5th Ave with a whole of very expensive looking people. The event was held in honor of this year’s most “stylish” men: Dan Abrams, Gossip GirlsEd Westwick, Ugly Betty‘s Eric Mabius, and Eric Ripert the chef at Le Bernadin. We caught up with Dan Abrams for a minute and asked him what exactly made him so stylish, he told us the Louis Vuitton clothes he was wearing pretty much did the trick! He also mentioned he thought David Gregory was a great pick for hosting duties at Meet the Press.

As for how GQ managed such a lavish party in this downturn, well as one party guest pointed out to us, appearances can be deceiving.

The Louis Vuitton store was actually open for business (for partygoers) during the entire event (many people actually appeared to be doing some shopping) and the only thing being served to guests (not that we’re complaining!) was Moet champagne and trays of very tiny appetizers. The party maybe just looked uber-expensive because of the surroundings (the wallets alone cost upwards of $600) and because the people attending clearly had not yet felt the (now official) recessionary crunch. That said, we figure six months from now we’ll be lucky to get a free Diet Coke.
