Kristine Shine has been named president of the San Francisco Chronicle, a Hearst Newspapers publication. Shine comes to the paper from Popsugar, where she has been since 2008; most recently serving as chief revenue officer.
“Kristine has the experience to effectively build our digital businesses in a rapidly expanding market,” said Mark Aldam, Hearst Newspapers’ president, in a statement. “In addition to her hands-on sales development background, Kristine has proactively developed new product experiences to connect brands with the audiences they want to reach.”
Shine — who begins her role on January 20 — succeeds Joanne Bradford, who left the Chronicle in November.
