Beating out 10,000 girls who auditioned across Britain, Dakota Blue Richards won the role of Lyra Belacqua, the heroine of best-selling children’s trilogy His Dark Materials, that the studio is hoping to turn into its very own Harry Potter. If the trilogy doesn’t make serious bank, we’re guessing the studio will hold on to Dakota for a Showgirls remake in six years.
