Hollywood Loves “Tourists”

touristspic.jpgThe good people at Book Soup always offer the best tips – authors we’d like, authors we really, really wouldn’t like, and authors that are exploding like a super nova in the otherwise cluttered firmament. Jeff Hobbs, apparently, fits the bill for the latter. Store employees tell us they were taken off-guard when his debut novel, The Tourists, sold out before he even began his reading on Tuesday night.

They kinda saw the storm coming, though, when that morning an unnamed CAA agent called the store trying to find Hobbs — seems the Hollywood bidding war for the option has already begun. Who needs Oprah?
