Here’s our question: When Indycar.com‘s new senior vice president of entertainment and media Sarah Nettinga (pictured) starts commuting from her home in Calabasas to a new company office space near Cloverfield and 20th Streets in Santa Monica, will she do so in some sort of souped up race car? Even maybe just on casual Fridays, as a way of further imprinting the corporate brand onto the SoCal horizon.
Nettinga comes to the position after performing similar duties for NASCAR. But it’s obviously her entertainment background that got her the new gig, which will involve a lot of expense account schmoozing with Hollywood movers and shakers. Via the Santa Monica Mirror:
Nettinga was a producer of the Will Ferrell-starring comedy hit Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, one of the projects that went a long way in extending auto racing into the mainstream… Prior to joining auto racing, Nettinga was a production executive at Warner Bros. International Television Production. She also has worked for Columbia Tristar Television, CBS, Petry Television, Westinghouse International and Sony International Television.
It’s likely that as soon as Nettinga moves into her Santa Monica digs, the phone will start ringing with assistant inquiries about access to parties and luxury boxes at the 2011 Memorial Day weekend running of the Indianapolis 500. Welcome to Hollywood!
