Great call and response in today’s USA Today piece on Katie Couric and her hemmorraging ratings:

Q: Is it hard to read negative stories about you and the News after the Today glory years?

A: It really isn’t. There are some critics who may not like the broadcast. That’s going to exist and existed at Today. But I have incredible support at CBS, among people I know and total strangers who say they’re really enjoying the broadcast and appreciate that I am there. So I think we shouldn’t overstate what people in media circles may live and breathe by, because I think it doesn’t reflect the rest of the country.
