Isobella Jade: ‘I Had Wasted A Year Shooting With These Idiots’

isobella_jade_metro_interview.jpgToday’s Metro includes an interview with our favorite 5’2″ homeless model-memoirist and Apple Store savant, Isobella Jade:

Q: Your memoir says you bring out the truths in freelance modeling. What are those truths?

A: As a freelance model, you can rely on no one. You become your own agent, your own business. When I first started, I would work with photographers for cash. It’s a little gritty but I would go from my college class to an amateur photographer’s penthouse or studio and do a shoot. After I got my first tear sheets with Women’s Wear I realized I had wasted a year shooting with these idiots.

As FishbowlNY first broke this slice-of-life New York story, we can’t help but feel bittersweet, like a father sending our daughter off to college. Except in this case, our daughter strips for tuition, and “college” is the Soho Apple Store.
