Jim Frederick Is Time.com’s New Managing Editor
Jim Frederick is the new managing editor of Time‘s Time.com and an executive editor of the magazine, the New York Observer reports.
Time Inc. editor in chief John Huey and Time editor Rick Stengel made the announcement today in a memo to staff published by the Observer. Along with other duties working alongside Daniel Eisenberg, Time‘s features executive editor, and Time.com executive producer Cathy Sharick, Frederick will oversee integration of Time content onto the iPad. Time Inc. recently announced a further commitment to developing iPad applications.
Frederick, whose website is here, was previously assistant managing editor at Time. He has also worked on the magazine’s Europe, Africa and Middle East coverage from the London bureau and served as Time‘s Tokyo bureau chief. He is the author of Black Hearts: One Platoon’s Descent Into Madness in Iraq’s Triangle of Death, and The Reluctant Communist.
