John Glionna Banned For Life For His Column

berkeley.jpg
John Glionna story about the infamous grocery store Berkeley Bowl was only funny if you’re not the owner…or some of the uptight wackos that frequent there. (You can’t scare us – we’ve covered Silver Lake land disputes). Glionna has announced that he has been banned for life for the tone of his piece. He writes:

Owner Glenn Yasuda called to complain about the story’s tone, especially the portrayal of the management’s tough line on food samplers.

The upshot, he told me: I’ve been banned from the Berkeley Bowl. For life.

Yeah all those free loving hippies really dig their rules. We’d congratulate John for bucking the system and stirring things up with his investigative journalism, but pissing people off in Berkeley these days…low lying fruit.
