Fusion TV continues to stockpile talent. The company’s latest hire is Jorge Urrutia, who is leaving The Huffington Post to join Fusion as vice president of digital monetization. Urrutia served as HuffPost’s VP of operations since February of last year.
“Jorge will work closely with our editorial and technology teams to explore unique ways to drive digital revenue across our platforms,” wrote Isaac Lee, Fusion’s CEO, in a note to staffers.
Urrutia is the latest big name to join Fusion, which has been staffing up over the last few weeks. Most recently, Anna Holmes, Jezebel’s founder, joined the company as its editor of digital voices and storytelling.

Jorge will work closely with our editorial and technology teams to explore unique ways to drive digital revenue across our platforms. He will be building a team that will develop new, inventive ways of connecting our young, diverse audience with key partners and advertisers as well as overseeing branded content, digital partnerships, and events.
Jorge comes to us from The Huffington Post, where he served as Vice President of Operations leading business strategy and monetization. In that role he oversaw teams responsible for display advertising and native advertising as well as product marketing and analytics.Jorge was instrumental in the creation of the HuffPost native advertising content studio (HuffPost Partner). This platform led the industry in creating a cross-screen advertising product strategy for desktop, mobile, and apps. Jorge also helped launch the video streaming network HuffPost Live and was critical to the site’s international expansion strategy.Prior to joining HuffPost Jorge helped build and lead the Global Strategy Development team for AOL. He holds an MBA from the Sloan School at MIT and is fluent in Spanish and French.Fusion has a unique opportunity to leverage our ability to reach a millennial audience to help key advertisers and partners connect with the most influential, diverse, and socially connected generation in American history.
