KNX 1070 Showcases America’s Safest City

There is probably no better Southern California AM radio synergy today than the fact that the latest installment of the ongoing “KNX On Your Corner” series is being broadcast from an Irvine Corner Bakery Cafe franchise. Following news anchors Dick Helton and Vicky Moore this morning, Frank Mottek will host “The KNX Business Hour” there from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by news anchors Diane Thompson and Chris Sedens, on-site live until 7 p.m.

The CBS station’s website is chock full of supporting articles and archived audio. Including a look from Sedens at some spectacular civic pride stats:

“…Data from the FBI gives Irvine the unprecedented distinction of being America’s safest city for eight consecutive years…”

Up next for the series, produced by KNX assistant news director Joe Guimond, is Glendale (October 19) and Beverly Hills (December 7).
