LA Times’ Deb Vankin Pens ‘Party Noir’ Graphic Novel

Former Brand X editor and current LA Times feature writer Deb Vankin has a new graphic novel out called “Poseurs.” The story revolves around three teens lost in the Hollywood party scene. Vankin told Newsarama that the book was born from nights covering the club scene for the alt-weekly world.

“At the time I wrote the book, I was editor-in-chief of Metromix LA, a website and weekly paper published by the LA Times covering events, food and nightlife for twenty-somethings. So I was especially steeped in this world.  That’s partly why I set Poseurs against that world.”

Poseurs is set to be released on February 16, 2011 by Image Comics.
