LAT: Chocolate, Sandboxes

fhc.jpgDear Los Angeles Times,

I’m sure Steve Harvey is a very nice man. But maybe someone should read his column before it runs to prevent him, for instance, from marveling at a sign in a coffeeshop advertising ‘frozen hot chocolate,’ an extremely popular beverage which is available just about everywhere these days and which generates 14,400 hits if you type it into Google. (Writes Harvey: “Cliff Hilliard of Diamond Bar found a cafe that will cool you off with hot chocolate.”) Because people might start to think that Steve Harvey is a little culturally out of touch.

Also, Los Angeles Times, I noticed that two sections on Sunday featured front-page headlines with the word ‘sandbox’ in them. (Travel: Colorado’s Supersized Sandbox; Business: A New Player in the Canadian Sandbox.) I mean, if there’s a headline-writer with a sandbox fetish, that’s cool, I believe in sexual freedom, but it just seemed a little funny.

Also, the Current section webpage no longer makes a cool sound effect when I open it. Bring (back) the noise!

Yours Always,
FishbowlLA
