41948906-29142548.jpgMcCain Uses Same “Investigative Techniques” That We Do: Peter Wallsten reveals that John McCain may have picked up a few bad habits from all his journo friends on the Once-Straight-Talk Express: “According to this Republican, who would discuss internal campaign strategizing only on condition of anonymity, the McCain team used little more than a Google Internet search as part of a rushed effort to review Palin’s potential pitfalls. Just over a week ago, Palin was not on McCain’s short list of potential running mates, the Republican said.”

41905833-28114510.jpgWe Still Hate Brenda: But others, apparently, don’t. Take Kate Aurthur‘s breathless interview with Ms. Shannen Doherty: “She beamed when the director praised her for hitting her mark in take after take; she jokingly berated one of the show’s executive producers, Gabe Sachs, while he was speaking with this reporter (‘Seriously, Gabe, keep your mouth shut.’). And she hugged — yes, hugged — a young cast member, Jessica Lowndes, after they completed a scene in which Lowndes’ character had to sing a cappella in front of the famous, intimidating Brenda Walsh, back at West Beverly High to direct (hilariously) the libidinal ‘Spring Awakening.’” (Our apologies to Ms. Aurthur for initially misspelling her name. The curse of Brenda is clearly upon us.)
