LAT Weekend Wrap-Up

- Ellen DeGeneres snares her fourth ‘Hot Property’ mention since 2001. Is that a record? Is anyone keeping score? Can’t she find a house she likes and settle down?

- Joel Stein, the LAT‘s Voice of Young Adult Los Angeles, tells us about the Suicide Girls. Thanks for the update! Theory: Stein doesn’t actually appeal to young adults. He appeals to old(er) people who want to pretend that they’re in touch with 18-34 culture and attitude. Which is, of course, a giant Los Angeles cultural-consumer demographic. (See KCRW post below.)

- The Calendar section looks at the alcohol concession at the ArcLight. Interest varies widely by movie. Turns out ‘Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants’ viewers aren’t a big drinking crowd.
