As anyone who watched the recent Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel report about Leigh Steinberg can attest, the one-time NFL super agent very sadly allowed his credibility to go down the vodka drain. However, he is also the kind of guy who should never be counted out.
Recent bankruptcy filing notwithstanding, Steinberg was a live-feed interview guest this afternoon at Dun & Bradstreet’s credibilityLIVE.com. It’s one small step for a man intent on showing us all the comeback.
As always, Steinberg was a fountain of fascinating information. He told a great story involving Phillip Rivers, Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger, as well as reminded that the NFL’s agent fee cap is just three percent.
His class at UC Irvine class similarly sounds like fun. Steinberg explained how he likes to divide students into “NFL first pick” and “drafting team” groups, then watch them negotiate.
