Grumpy Cat Gets a Christmas Movie

GrumpyCatThe two-comma feline’s handler, if he has not already, might want to consider sending a special gift to the daughters of Lifetime TV’s vp of original movies Arturo Interian. After all, per today’s Hollywood Reporter exclusive, the delightfully titled forthcoming offering Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever was their idea:

“It brings fun and irreverence that we haven’t had at Lifetime,” says Interian, noting that his teenage daughters are fans of Grumpy and gave him the initial idea for the project. “We’re so known for our heartfelt sentimentality that it will poke fun at those stereotypes.”

Thanks to the project, some actor will soon be able to boast that they are the voice of the Phoenix-based Grumpy. Next to Susan Bennett and Siri, it doesn’t get much cooler than that.

According to Interian, there will also be cameos featuring other celebrated Internet memes. In the TV movie, Grumpy will play a pet store feline perpetually overlooked by customers. Ha ha.
