Lola Ogunnaike’s Times Suspension A ‘Blessing’

lola_ogguniake_052407.jpgLola Ogunnaike keeps getting offers she can’t refuse. Five years ago, the Times came after her when she was at the Daily News. Last week, it was CNN:

“When you have an amazing organization like CNN reaching out to you, you can’t turn them down. … People keep reaching out, giving me offers that I can’t refuse, so I don’t refuse them.”

But she was suspended by the Times when she appeared on the View in October, and it appears that suspension gave her an opportunity to explore TV options beyond MTV.

Lola tells Journal-isms: “I spent a lot of time for those few days speaking to a number of television people about my future in that industry, so it ended up a blessing in disguise.”
