Lunch at Michael's: It was a very bookish dayNearly every table had an author, an agent, a publisher or a publishing flack today at Michael's. Plus, some Cablevision action... [For expediency, this post is going up unedited and unfact-checked, so excuse any mistakes. Or, email me and I'll correct them later today]. Table 1: Deb Shriver, head of Corp Communications for Hearst Magazines, was with an editor at Bride's mag, Leslie Glotz, Jane Freeman, of Harper Collins, Peter Brown and a few other folks. Don Logan, Time, with Larry Kirschbaum, who's exiting Time Warner Trade Publishing for agenting. Back room: Dick Parsons, of Time Warner, with blonde woman. Leslee Dart and Cynthia Schwartz, both of the Dart Group, with 20/20's editorial producer Susan Miller and Anchor Elizabeth Vargas. Table 16: Evan Strome and Jason Ressler, filmmakers working on a Sid Bernstein documentary, with Time's Ali Zelenko and Lisa Dallos. Jim Hoge, formerly of Foreign Affairs (and now an author), with an unknown guest; Later at the same table, Don Epstein of the Greater Talent Network with the Head of Caroline's Comedy club. Table 5 (Michael Wolff's usual table): John Sykes, CEO and Chairman of Infinity Broadcasting was with Jim Dolan of Cablevision. Wonder what they were talking about :)? Good Housekeeping's Ellen Levine was with agent Joni Evans. Table 7: Hamilton South,of HL Group, with unknown guest. Former UN Ambassador Dick Holbrooke was with an unknown guest. Tina Brown with a woman in boldly patterned, chic attire. Larry A., of Harper Collins, with unknown guest. Liz Lang, maternity designer with unknown guest. Table 17: Mrs. Joan Tisch with unknown guest. Martha Kramer with Barbara Cirvka, Executive Vice President, Chanel Inc. Jack Myers, author of The Jack Myers report and founder of mediavillage.com, was with Richard M. Glosser, a consultant (formerly of Sony). Wendy Goldberg and Sally Susman. Gentleman in jacket and striped shirt, wearing sandals (!) with two women. David Hirshey, Harper Collins, was right next to me and seemed to be lunching with an author. They exchanged books instead of kisses when they said goodbye. Author/journalist Seth Mnookin was with Charlie Schueler, of Cablevision, talking about sports and what else, books. Peter Wolf was at his regular table (two weeks at the same table means regular for my purposes) with an unknown guest. Rob Shuter of Dan Klores PR was with Nancy Murray, head of Global Communications for Ralph Lauren. I was at Table 19 with Chris Taylor, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, MacAndrews & Forbes (better known as Ronald Perelman's holding company). Back room: Teri Karush Rogers, who writes the "Blueprints" (design column) and "Interview" for the New York Times Wednesday Business Section once a month, with Mitchell Konsker, Exec VP at commercial real estate brokerage behemoth Cushman & Wakefield. Judith Czelusniak, PR for Bloomberg was with Gene Marcial, "Inside Wall Street" columnist from BusinessWeek in the back room near Dick Parsons. IF you were at Michael's today (or any day) and would like to report in, or correct the record, please email LaurelT AT mediabistro.com
