Bitch Saved. Now What?
In fact, it only took three days for the money to be raised and the pot now tops $55,000. The work isn't done, however. Bitch's founder and editors are still seeking donations to keep the magazine afloat. They are also soliciting advice for suggestions about how best to continue publishing. "And we assure you we're hard at work on a sustainable vision, based on your feedback (and we're at work on a survey to help facilitate this process)" they write on the site. "We've also discovered through this process that many of you weren't aware that Bitch is a nonprofit organization, and that we rely on your ongoing financial support to continue our work. One of the advantages of being a nonprofit means that the money we raise above and beyond our fundraising goals simply goes back into the organization to secure our future and help us launch new projects and new ways of fulfilling our mission. So give, give, give, before another beloved magazine goes the way of Punk Planet. Email This Post |
