There have been a few reports that Florida-based Bonnier Corp. is close to reaching a deal to buy a group of Hachette Filipacchi enthusiast titles.

Earlier this month, we confirmed that Hachette was looking for a buyer for a group of magazines including American Photo, Popular Photography, Boating, Flying and Sound & Vision. Now, according to sources noted by Nielsen's Photo District News and minonline, Bonnier is in talks to snap up the titles, although a final deal may be weeks away.

Our source confirmed what minonline reported earlier today: the two companies are trying to reach an agreement, but it could be a few weeks before it is finalized.

If the deal does go through, Hachette's titles will fit well into Bonnier's portfolio, which already includes a number of enthusiast titles, such as Field & Stream, Windsurfing and Yachting, as well as consumer titles like Popular Science and Parenting.
