Yesterday, you may have come across some media watchers along with seven pages and counting worth of comments ripping brilliantly dissecting Kate Ahlborn's blog post on VanityFair.com detailing her weekend trip into Brooklyn. And for good reason as, in the immortal words of Jack Black's character in High Fidelity, it sucks ass.

But young Ms. Ahlborn isn't the only villain here. Sure, her take on a Williamsburg performance art piece is biased, a bit more than ridiculous, etc., etc. but let's reserve some ire for her editors.

First, they published the piece. That, in itself, shows pretty poor judgment. But more to the point, the title -- "Brooklyn Virgin Discovers Naked Dancing" -- seems right out of "How to artificially inflate pageviews 101."

Type "Naked Dancing" into Google (here) and the post pops up as the fifth link. This might be a good time to point out that the word "dancing" never actually appears in her story.

Look, we know it's a tough time for magazine revenues, but we're pretty sure shredding whatever small credibility you have in the Internet sphere for a couple thousand cheap pageviews isn't the best business plan.
