Make-a-Wish LA’s First Wish of the Season

FBLA is a media partner Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles. We will be bringing you stories all season long about the children the organization assists.

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles Celebrates First Wish of the Season
“The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Los Angeles celebrated its first wish of the 2010 Season of Wishes® campaign at The Grove with Rafael Espinoza, a 16-year-old wish child who was surprised with a custom made BMX bike and riding gear. Rafael, who though he was attending the event to raise awareness of his illness, Abdominal Sarcoma, was presented with his own custom bike, after he finished sharing his story with the crowd. In addition to the bike, Rafael, and the crowd, were treated to a show by a BMX trick rider, Shawn White, who executed difficult tricks and shared a few tips about BMX riding with Rafael.

Rafael’s wish is one of the hundreds of wishes granted to children with life threatening medical conditions throughout November and December as part of Season of Wishes. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles hopes to bring holiday joy to the Los Angeles community as it watches a child’s wish come true right in front of its eyes. Please visit www.wishla.org for more information about the 2010 campaign.”

Any kid who just wants a bike only to have Shawn White show up with one is kind of an awesome story.
