The campaign will feature six “weekly wish nights” that will be open to the public and held at various locations including Westfield shopping centers throughout LA every Tuesday evening. As a media partner, Fishbowl LA will be there to cover them, bringing you the sweet, heartwarming stories that will shake the cynicism right off ya.
The first wish of the season was granted to 18-year-old Austen Mayer from Long Beach, whose wish is to see the New Zealand All Blacks rugby game. Austen will leave for Dublin on Nov. 11, in time to watch the All Blacks team play against Ireland on Nov. 16th.
“Weekly wish nights are a great way to experience the power of a wish first hand. And, for those of you who have been privileged to be present when a child’s wish is granted, you know that it is an emotional experience that brings most of us to tears,” said Mark Wallengren, radio personality for KOST-FM and emcee for the campaign unveiling.
In a release, Paulette Pasciuti, CEO of The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles, said, “Through the generous support of our campaign partners, sponsors and volunteers, we have reached our goal of raising awareness and funds, year after year. This year, with the dedicated help of everyone involved, we intend to exceed our past successes and grant even more wishes than in prior years.”
