Marie Claire Talks with Female News Producers

We already mentioned some power women today, so why not keep that trend going? Marie Claire has a great feature that gets the inside scoop from five female news producers that’s worth checking out. The women discuss what it’s like to be in their positions, dish on some crazy stories, explain challenges that they’ve faced and more.

Here are a couple highlights:

Santina Leuci (center of picture), the Senior Editorial Producer for “Good Morning America,” has a particularly funny story:

One time I was in downtown Manhattan, looking for a prostitute who got away from serial killer Joel Rifkin. I was leaning into the window of my town car, telling my driver my plan, when a policeman came by and said, ‘Keep it moving, lady.’ I was like, ‘What? I am not a hooker!’ He said, ‘Yeah, right, and I’m Sleeping Beauty.’

We love that Sleeping Beauty was the first person that came to mind when the cop needed someone to compare himself to.

Kristin Whiting, a Field Producer for  ”48 Hours Mystery,” has short and sweet advice for women who want to enter the field: “Be fearless,” she says.
