Matt Bai Leaves NY Times for Yahoo News

Another one bites the dust. Sort of. We just told you about Brian Stelter leaving The New York Times, and now Matt Bai is departing too. Bai is joining Yahoo! News as a national political columnist.

Bai had been with the Times since 2002, and during his tenure as chief political correspondent for the Times Magazine, he covered the last three presidential elections.

“Matt has an ideal voice for Yahoo News,” said Megan Liberman, editor-in-chief of Yahoo News, in a statement. “He has a singular ability to write about politics in a way that will connect with Yahoo News’ broad readership and bring in younger readers who aren’t always attracted to political commentary. I’m thrilled he is joining us.”

Now please, no one else leave the Times today. We can barely keep up.
