WHERE: Hiro Ballroom at the Maritime Hotel, 371 W. 16th Street at 9th Avenue
WHY YOU SHOULD GO: It may have been a tame year for music, but it’s been a wild year for Spin: an underwhelming sale, subsequent ousting of its popular editor Sia Michel and installation of Andy Pemberton, who exited the stage after just two and a half issues. Toss in an ill-fated attempt at a sex columnist (Joanna Angel) and you’ve got yourselves a year worthy to drink to.
NOTE: Private party, but certainly crash-worthy.
