Media Lookbook

Introducing Media Lookbook — inspired by New York magazine’s addictive “Lookbook” — FishbowlNY’s arbitrary examination of what media people wear and why

WHO: Michelle Clough [left], designer/journalist/photographer; Nancy Bass Wyden, owner of New York’s Strand Bookstore

WHERE: Cipriani 42nd Street at the More/Wilhemina 40+ Model Search

WHAT THEY WORE:

Clough: jewelry, headband of her own design; Louis Vuitton handbag; multiple scarves

Wyden: Façonnable sweater; Akris skirt

WHY:

Clough: “I think More magazine is a statement in itself — it’s an ageless magazine. I support that. I think when you make that statement, it’s important to go in the direction of the event. As someone who’s been a plus-sized model who will be aging, too, it’s very important to support that.”

Can you tell us about your jewelry?

Clough: “I design my jewelry and accessories — I use kinesiology, the science, specifically to design my jewelry. I’ve been doing stuff for Henri Bendel and Nordstrom.”

Wyden: “I’ve actually been photographed in More before — my husband is a senator. I like to wear colors, especially when the weather’s not as nice. I work in a bookstore, so this is comfortable for me, and I can go on and wear it to an event after work.”
