Take Our Favorite Punchline Again and Again, Please! Ted Koppel is ridin’ high on MEL today at #2 with the cautionary “Take my privacy, please!” Over at the Daily News they flog the horse again with Lowdown‘s “Blame his wife – please!” Daily News, I’d say you’ve reached your limit except that dammit, it still makes me giggle. [NYT and NYDN]

Bill O’Reilly is a journalist and other lies of the liberal media: More Americans consider Bill O’Reilly a journalist than Bob Woodward, according to an Annenberg poll conducted recently (but NB, before the Deep Throat revelations). Most journalists polled, not so much (11%, though that’s still high). In related news, most Americans “just know” that Snuffaluffagus really does exist. [AP via Yahoo]

Felt family, you may just have your book! Today The Nation adds a new twist to the Deep Throat story: Mark Felt was the FBI agent assigned to find – and stop – Deep Throat! Not only does this make things more interesting, it makes things more complicated – because this elevates Felt’s role to that of essentially a double agent, no? I can’t wait ’til it comes out that Felt has a sister somewhere in South America and may have been the subject of a 15th century prophecy. [The Nation via, yes, Romenesko. So sue me]
