New York, NY (October 29, 2009) -- WNJU has announced today the restructuring of its news operations into a multiplatform comprehensive content center that will encompass the news department, creative services and all digital platforms. The new structure will allow for easy edit, update and more effective distribution of local content across multiple platforms, including Noticiero 47, El Informador, the entertainment magazine show "Acceso Total", a robust and growing website: www.telemundo47.com, as well as outstanding production of Levantate cut-ins and A-La-Mano Mobile services.

To ensure maximum efficiency of this new structure, WNJU has named Jose Morales to the newly created position of Vice President of Content. Morales will oversee the day-to-day operations of the content center, both broadcast and digital, thereby, streamlining all content created locally regardless of who produces it.

In making the announcement, President and General Manager of WNJU Carlos Sanchez said, "Jose brings a wealth of talent to the position, including a proven track record in both digital and production areas. With Jose at the helm, we are sure to meet the increasing needs of the public in this new technological era."

Morales joins the Telemundo 47 team following a one-year stint as Director of Digital Content for Telemundo Local Media. There he led the content efforts for the Telemundo Local Stations' digital platforms: web, mobile and out-of-home and served as liaison between Telemundo Local Media (TLM) and digital entities on Telemundo, such as www.telemundo.com and www.holamun2.com

Including various partners on the NBC side. In addition, he spearheaded a major overhaul of the Local websites and Mobile sites.

Prior to that, Morales served as Director of News Operations for the NBC Television Stations Division where he managed the broadcast division and several Internet operations for the O&O's ensuring fresh, timely and appealing content. He was part of a team that implemented the company wide ground breaking "Green is Universal" program, creating the new "green" look on NBC networks and local programming.

Previously, Morales was Director of News Operations for the Telemundo Television stations where he directed on-air operations for 12 stations, spearheaded division wide projects such as content management, share initiatives, integration and consolidation projects.

Morales also held positions at Univision as News Director in Puerto Rico, one of the biggest and most profitable Hispanic markets in the nation, and as Assistant News Director for WXTV in New York.

His Newsroom operations and special projects have garnered 2 Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award.

Morales graduated from University of Puerto Rico where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism.
