VH1 Prez Christina Norman bumped to MTV, is having Best Week Ever! Christina Norman has been named President of MTV: Music Television, bumped up from her previous position at VH1 (where she was widely credited for the jump in programming quality. Oh, that crazy Hal Sparks!). She'll oversee pretty much everything MTV from biz dev to finance to strategy, as well as MTV's new media (sigh...look for the inevitable profusion of blogs real soon). The appointment solidifies Norman (who is African American) as one of TV's highest-ranking minority execs. She does a switcheroo with Tom Calderone, who steps in at VH1 as General Manager from MTV where he was executive VP of Music Programming and Talent. [Mediaweek]
