Media Miscellany: 07.06.2005Instead of a sandwich, I'm scooping cereal from the box with my fingers, is that okay? It's lunchtime, New York Observer, where are you? You promised you'd meet me here. Sitting in the caf all alone is, like, so humiliating. [NYO] Useless speculation is only useless if you lose: If I were a bettin' man, I'd be a man. Oddjack is, and defies Howie Kurtz by laying the odds on who's next in line for the deluxe robe-and-gavel set. US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is the big favorite, possibly because having a nickname like "AG Gonzo" makes you sound cool in spite of yourself. [Oddjack] Scooter? But I don't even... Yes, there's more news beyond the Supreme Court and Matt & Judy but frankly I can't remember what. Wonkette polls readers on whether Matt & Judy should forsake the First Amendment and send Rove to the slammer (early results suggest that "Wonkette readers hate Karl Rove more than they love freedom of the press"). She also wonders, why "Scooter?" (We'll get on that now that our quest for the elusive "Y" has borne such luscious fruit). Meanwhile, at Gawker they envision everyone leaping in spandex across the stage in a media--riffic version of "Tonight" from West Side Story, in full counterpoint. Which sort of brought a lump to my throat. Gee, Patrick Fitzgerald, krup you! [Wonkette, Gawker] Email This Post |
