We told you here that CNN chief news exec Eason Jordan had been lambasted by several bloggers for allegedly having said at a conference in Davos recently that U.S. soldiers had specifically used journos for target practice in Iraq, killing several in the process. We worried that nobody (including Michelle Malkin) had bothered to ask Jordan himself for a comment, a situation the AP now remedies here. Jordan denies it.
So is there smoke from this fire? Was Jordan misquoted or misunderstood? Michelle Malkin and others have already called for the release of Jordan's transcripted Davos speech. We're still confident the Swiss will release the secret ingredient for Toblerone dark chocolate before that happens. Oh, and can we have a problem in this business without adding the -gate suffix to everything? It's so '90s.
