Pro Athletes Suddenly Discover Sarcasm in Media Relations
Last week, Kobe Bryant lost it after his team's defeat in Game 4 of the NBA playoffs. When asked how the Lakers would deal with blowing a huge lead, he responded, "Whine about it tonight. Lot of wine. Lot of beer. Couple shots, maybe like 20 of them." Then, in today's New York Daily News, new Met coach Jerry Manuel who replaced the ousted Willie Randolph told NYDN beat writer Adam Rubin how he'd deal with the difficult Jose Reyes: "I told him next time he does that I'm going to get my blade out and cut him.
