Jennifer Hudson clearly doesn't hold a grudge. Despite having been named this year's worst dressed at the Academy Awards thanks to the ill-fated wardrobe choices Vogue's Andre Leon Talley made on her behalf, Hudson showed up arm-in-arm with the style guru at Fashion Group International's Night of Stars last night. The former American Idol contestant was there to present Talley with the Lord & Taylor Fashion Oracle Award. (She was furiously studying her cue cards in the VIP section minutes before the awards and was overheard fretting, "I'm a little worried about this. I'm nervous." Based on her somewhat stilted delivery, she was right.)

When asked about the now infamous Oscar night debacle, the zaftig star said, "That was so overblown!" Still, we couldn't help but ask if Hudson had asked Talley to select her outfit for the evening. "No, he let me pick it out myself." While her choice of a gold Carmen Marco Valvo that showed quite a bit of skin was a bit dubious, it was Talley's turn to commit the night's biggest fashion felony. The eccentric editor sported a flowing scarlet robe over a shirt and tie that made him look as if he'd just come from choir practice. But Hudson, who reports she's just about finished shooting her role as Sarah Jessica Parker's fashion-crazed assistant in the big screen version of Sex & The City, wasn't passing judgment. "It's all good," said the starlet. "Fashion is all about expressing yourself and there are so many different ways to do that. People should be able to express themselves however they want." As long as it doesn't involve anything that looks like something Jane Jetson would wear.
