Mikki Taylor Leaves Essence After 30 Years

mikki_taylor_3.17.10.jpgAfter 30 years at Essence magazine, beauty and cover director Mikki Taylor is retiring. She will continue contributing as editor at large, but she will mainly focus on her company, Mikki Taylor Enterprises, and Satin Doll Productions, an image consulting company, as well as MT Communications, a communications and branding firm.

Taylor is also the author of Self-Seduction: Your Ultimate Plan to Inner and Outer Beauty and has been a guest instructor at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.

The role of beauty and cover editor will be temporarily filled by Corynne Corbett, former of executive editor of Real Simple, until a new editor is hired.
