Today on the Menu we are joined by ABC News’ principal Iraq correspondent Terry McCarthy. ABC is launching “Iraq: Where Things Stand,” this week, the eighth installment of the series. McCarthy has been reporting from the region since 2003, and will report this week for all ABC broadcasts and platforms.
McCarthy talks with us about ABC’s just-released poll about the positive changes that have taken place in Iraq — McCarthy was recently able to take a road trip across the country for the first time ever. “We are now able to do our jobs properly in Iraq, which we haven’t really been able to do for the last several years.”
He also discusses today’s NYT story about foreign correspondents and says “with everything online now it’s instantly available everywhere in the world, which you have to bear in mind when you report.” You can listen to all the past podcasts at BlogTalkRadio.com/mediabistro and call in at 646-929-0321. Tomorrow on the Menu we’re broadcasting live from CNN’s American Morning.
